SIEMENS says it has upgraded the Simatic Maintenance Station software used to diagnose and maintain plants and machinery with new diagnostic and management functions.
The Siemens Simatic Maintenance Station is a software option for the Simatic WinCC SCADA system, designed to provide centralised support for preventive, condition-based and reactive maintenance activities of a plant.
According to Siemens, the Simatic Maintenance Station software now offers functions for efficient planning and monitoring of maintenance operations and jobs. Devices in the field can now access the Simatic Maintenance Station software via a web client for remote maintenance.
Siemens claims the Simatic Maintenance Station software provides plant operators with a uniform and clear status display, due to the way it visualises diagnostic and maintenance information on all levels.
Operators can use the Simatic Maintenance Station to identify components, systems and plant units, assess them individually, and respond quickly to special situations, or undertake preventive maintenance.
