SIEMENS has released two new vibratory switches which monitors and provides alerts on liquid levels.

The Sitrans LVL100 and LVL200 switches can signal when the level of liquid media is sufficiently high, or when refills are required. They can also be used to protect pumps.

According to the manufacturer, the switches are compact, user-friendly and reliable even in changing conditions. Vapour or bubbles will not affect their performance.

The switches can be connected to any signalling systems and are said to be impervious to external vibrations. They use a piezo actuator and can be used at high temperatures up to 250 degrees Celsius.

LVL100 is suitable for applications where space is limited, for pressure vessels, and for protection against running dry. The switch can be mounted vertically, horizontally or inclined.LVL200 is compliant with SIL2. It has a safety shutdown for detection of minimum/maximum levels.
