JEMTECH has released a machinery stopping performance recorder device which measures machine stopping time for safety system, maintenance and risk analysis.
The LDX unit records the stopping forces on a machine after a safety trigger event. These forces are used by computer software to calculate the speed of the machine before and after the event, and the time taken for the machine to go from moving speed to stop.
The LDX monitor is clamped to the machine without the use of strings and pulleys, and can make two-axis vector measurements for more complex machines such as robots and automated manufacturing cells.
According to the company, the device comes with a calibration certificate completed by an accredited laboratory. This is said to ensure maximum security in the traceability of measurements made with the device.
The device and its associated software runs via a Windows-based computer.
