STORAGE Battery Systems has released a hydrogen gas detector for battery rooms and other industrial environments.
According to the manufacturer, lead-acid storage batteries emit hydrogen while gassing during charge. Failing to monitor the level of hydrogen in a battery room can void insurance policies.
The gas detector will activate relays to run exhaust fans and alarms when hydrogen concentration is measured at levels beyond 2%. Hydrogen concentration of 4% or more can be explosive.
