DOMINION Electronics is distributing a security system which uses fingerprint scanning to control access to facilities.
The Deltabit system is based on a Rabbit RCM3710 network-enabled control system. It can open doors, keep track of workers who enter or exit a building, and control alarm systems. It can also calculate working hours based on entry and exit times.
The control system is fully networked to a central server and database, and all entry, exit and alarm items are time stamped and logged for future reference. According to the distributor, the system can survive a network failure.
In the event of a broken connection, the control units at each door and area will operate independently, with monitored events entering into buffer memory to be transmitted to the server later.
Each person in the system has a profile to which certain restrictions or conditions can be applied. The system can control access to certain areas and log every entry or exit. If the system is tied to an anti-burglary system, the first person to gain entry can deactivate the alarm and the last person to exit can re-activate the system.
