The AuthentiCable is a technology for authenticating and identifying large scale electrical conductors used by utilities and in large industrial installations. It is a means of combating theft of infrastructure.
The AuthentiCable product enables manufacturers and owners of infrastructure and facilities to incorporate a monofilament into electrical cables. This microfilament contains both serialised microscopic identifiers as well as DataTraceDNA’s technology.
This is said to provide a means of authenticating the cable, as the information may be cross-referenced with an international database to identify the batch number and the customer to whom it was supplied.
According to DataTraceDNA and Holomatrix, AuthentiCable can be incorporated into electrical cable, steel and conventional ropes at the time of manufacture with minimal changes to production methods.
