SIEMENS has extended its Sitop line of modular power supply series with a compact 40A basic unit.
According to the company, the Sitop PSU300M is 150mm wide, making it 90mm narrower than its predecessor.
Additionally, the unit has two standard mounting rail power supplies for connection to three-phase 400 to 500V AC networks. These have a wider range input than previous units, from 320 to 575V AC.
The manufacturer claims these features allow the power supply unit to be used in almost all the world’s three-phase networks, providing a constant 24V supply even if there are large deviations in the voltage supply.
The power unit also supplies 60 amperes for five seconds, so it can switch on terminal equipment with high starting currents. With an efficiency of up to 93%, the unit reduces energy consumption and heat build-up in the control cabinet
Other features include rugged metal enclosures, the ability to provide up to three times the rated current to meet short-term peak power demands, and option-setting for the short-circuit response. Operators can choose between latching shutdown or constant current with automatic re-ramp up to the output voltage.
