FLOWCRETE is demonstrating its polyurethane resin flooring range at FoodPro 2008 from 21 to 24 July 2008, claiming it uses silver to enhance hygiene and facilitate cleaning.
The Flowfresh range is said to be suited for factories which process food, drinks, dairy, pharmaceutical and healthcare products.
A compound called Polygiene is locked into the resin matrix of the floor, and emits ions of silver which migrate to the surface to suppress microbial growth. This effect is said to be active throughout the lifetime of the flooring system.
The compound is also said to inhibit the growth of mould, fungi and mildew, making the floor easier to maintain and clean.
According to the company, the floor is hard-wearing, slip-resistant, compliant with Australian standards, and fast curing. It has a high thermal shock distortion and can be used in environments with temperatures from -40 to 120 degrees Celsius.
