TRUENERGY has started its new 435MW Tallawarra gas-fired power station.

According to TRUenergy, the clean burning power station will supply energy to over 200,000 homes and businesses across NSW.

TRUenergy says the opening of this new power station is in line with its aim of reducing its overall emissions by 60% by 2050. It has also set an interim target of 1/3 reduction by 2020.

The Tallawarra gas-fired power station produces 65% less carbon dioxide emissions than the average coal-fired plant. TRUenergy is staffing 28 full-time workers to operate and maintain the Tallawara gas-fired power station.
