Siemens Sinamics G150 ensures power reliability

Siemens Sinamics G150 ensures power reliability
SIEMENS has released the Sinamics G150 Clean Power frequency converter drive for fans, pumps, compressors, extruders, mixers and mills.
According to Siemens, the Sinamics G150 reduces low-frequency harmonic effects on the system, helping ensure energy efficiency and process quality.
Siemens says converters for equipment like pumps, fans, and compressors usually have high power ratings, leading to undesired effects on the electrical grid if no appropriate precautionary measures are taken.
The Sinamics G150 Clean Power converter is said to be tailored to the energy-efficient operation of fans, pumps and compressors and simple applications with constant torques. It uses a six-pulse rectifier technology combined with an integrated passive Line Harmonics Filter compact.
The company says the filter technology helps avoid pulse frequency components in line current, and eliminates the need for active components or complex transformer technology.
