Optimising compression systems can slash energy costs

BOGE says it can help mitigate the effects of the expected rise of energy prices, by optimising the energy usage of facilities.

The Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme will be effective as of 2010, which could lead to more expensive energy.

According to Boge, it can carry out an audit to evaluate energy consumption within all areas of compressed air systems to identify where power savings are possible. The company claims by repairing air leaks or implementing newer technologies, compressed air systems will use less energy.

For example, frequency controlled screwed compressors are considered low carbon technology, which allows the system to efficiently manage energy to meet fluctuations in compressed air demand.

Boge has also developed a free online energy survey htt
