HONEYWELL says the Queensland Department of Public Works has awarded it an Energy Performance Contracts undertaking worth $3.5m.

Honeywell will perform Energy Performance Contracts on government buildings, with the goal of delivering a guaranteed energy and operational savings of approximately $440,000 per year.

Honeywell will perform an overall upgrade of all existing Building Management Systems, including the integration of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and lighting systems, as well as energy consumption controls.

Energy Performance Contracts help lower the running costs of facilities by reducing energy and water consumption, and lowering maintenance costs.

According to Honeywell, it is easier and cheaper to improve energy efficiency within buildings compared to transport.
