Delay in ammonium nitrate plant construction slows revenue

UNITED Group has outlined the impacts which will result from Incitec Pivot’s decision to slow the construction of its Moranbah ammonium nitrate plant in Queensland.

Incitec Pivot had announced it would slow the construction by 12 months in the face of a slowing demand for ammonium nitrate on the part of the Queensland coal sector.

According to United Group, it now expects the mechanical completion of the plant to be pushed to the first quarter of 2011.

The maintenance and commissioning companies involved in the project will therefore derive revenue from the $683m alliance over a longer period. United has a $376m share of the alliance.
