Clough to help repair Varanus Island

CLOUGH will assist Apache Energy with essential repairs to the Varanus Island gas plant, after an explosion on 3 June 2008 shut down operations at the facility.

A Clough project team which had been working on a compression upgrade project on the island has been reassigned and will form the core of a repair team assisting Apache personnel.

According to the maintenance company, the team had been established on the site and were familiar with the plant. This would allow fast support in repairing the plant back to an operational state.

The company will undertake survey/laser scan and develop the scope of repair work. Engineering and procurement will be provided by its Perth office.
