Cheap ventilation systems result in losses later: Fanquip

FANQUIP has expressed its concern regarding the large number of Australian companies opting for cheap fan driven ventilation and extraction systems.

Fanquip has compared this practice with taking the cheap option on air conditioning for company cars, something the company claims most operators would avoid.

According to Fanquip, fan-driven extraction or ventilation systems are integral components to company operations, and also concerns OH&S matters and HACCP regulations.

To properly choose the ventilation and extraction systems, companies should thoroughly analyse the duty cycles involved, and buy quality components to suit demands.

Ventilation and extraction systems have to deal with a large amount of industrial humidity, so cheap and easily corroded fan systems will almost always be subject to increased breakdowns and downtime, which can cost the operator dearly.

Fanquip says both clients and ventilation system suppliers need to have a shift in thinking. Additionally, many suppliers do not have a good understanding of industrial factors to properly address the challenges of larger projects and constantly-running systems.
