CHAMPION Compressors says its service technicians are now equipped with a customised wireless hand-held Electronic Service Device.
According to Champion Compressors, the ESD is an all-in-one portable servicing tool, allowing technicians to keep a comprehensive electronic job service history, access service and stock data while on site, as well as track and trend the operation of the customer’s entire compressed-air system.
Champion Compressors says the ESD helps it streamline the servicing process, providing customers with insight into the state of their compressed-air systems, and simplifying maintenance tasks.
Once the service has been carried out, the device can be used to update the customer service record, by logging the performance data of the system, parts used, and job-specific notes.
Finally, a detailed electronic service report is automatically generated and sent to the customer via email.
Where relevant, the technicians monitor the performance of all elements of the compressed-air system, such as filters, dryers and pipe work, and record it on the ESDs.
If any of the recorded compressed-air system performance parameters vary by plus or minus 5% of the target reading, an alarm is raised, the customer notified and the piece of equipment is tagged for further investigation.
