Bilfinger Berger completes Braemer 2 power station

BILFINGER Berger Services says it has achieve Practical Completion of the Braemar 2 Power Station in Queensland.

Bilfinger Berger Services was granted practical completion of the final gas turbine and the balance of plant at the end of June and the station is now in full commercial operation.

The Braeumar 2 Power Station features three 150 MW gas turbines, generators and ancillary equipment, supplied by Siemens. The plant is a peaking power station with 450MW capacity, able to provide up to 3% of the combined electricity requirements of Queensland and New South Wales.

Bilfinger Berger Services was the principal contractor for the power station, and was responsible for installing the power generation equipment and designing and constructing the balance of the plant.

Bilfinger Berger Services’ specialist subsidiary, i.power solutions, designed and supplied the switchroom.
