SCHAEFFLER has written about the importance of precision bearings and seals in industrial machinery such as hydraulic drives and pumps.
Drives and pumps are used in most factories and plants, in a wide range of sectors. They are found in the oil and gas industry, chemicals, water, sewerage, metals processing, food and beverage.
These units are often used to maintain the rest of the facility, undertaking tasks like pumping lubricants or coolants. They therefore need to be energy efficient and able to stand up to harsh operating environments.
Some bearings can use the supply medium as lubricant, while needle roller bearings are specifically used in equipment dealing with fluids with low lubrication characteristics.
According to Schaeffler, its Fluid Technology division has a range of bearings and other precision components for hydraulic drives and pumps, including various types of bearings, inner rings, locknuts, seals, and valves.
