A breath of fresh air for water utilities

THE ENVIRONMENTAL Group will supply two odour control systems to water plants in Brisbane’s north.

According to the company, the current contract is worth over $1m. The Activated Carbon units to be installed will constitute the seventh and eighth installations by the group over the last four years.

The control system provider says the units are experiencing added demand because of the increase sensitivity on the part of the community and regulators to odour emissions.

The units will remove chemical compounds from air ventilated from the treatment plant, while the plant is upgraded.

The order will be completed by September 2008.
