$60m in contracts to repair Varanus

CLOUGH will be repairing the Varanus Island Gas Plant for Apache Energy, in contracts valued at around $60m.

The contract includes important repairs of components damaged or destroyed by the June 2008 explosion which temporarily shut down operations at the plant.

According to Clough, it has been working with Apache since June, making urgent repairs which brought the gas plant safely and efficiently back online.

Varanus Island is approximately 116 kilometres west of Dampier, Western Australia. The gas facility generates around 30 percent of Western Australia’s domestic gas supply.
